Well, it looks like we’re now on-line

Well, it looks like we’re finally on-line!

Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them

— Bruce Lee.

There’s been a lot that’s happened these past few months, and let’s just say that we are happy to have a place to rest our heads and carve out an existence.

The TDOT people are appreciated. Some of them go the extra mile to give us a good-natured hard time, which makes us feel at home.

Some of our fellow camp residents are settling into what could be considered “guilds.” Some are working on cars, and others are demonstrating skill with carpentry.

We’ve begun to list some of the things we need to further evolve these living conditions, and have started networking with people in the broader community to make things happen. For example:

  • Propane tanks (for a simple communal kitchen, warming water for cleaning, bathing, etc)
  • Ride share assistance (so we can more easily travel to work, to buy groceries, see our children, etc)
  • Soil for a simple garden (many of us would feel it therapeutic, plus we could grow our own food)

Come out and pay us a visit! We’d love to give you a tour.

  2. Very impressive!! Can’t wait to see the ‘Donate here’ button we can click on. Taking action instead of apathy is so very admirable, no doubt y’all will succeed.

  3. Capmetro bus 217 now comes every 15 to 30 minutes depending on time of day. However a lot of camp residents lack a bus pass to leave. Then it is about a mile hike to civilization.
